Nu Gold Brass it's a brass alloy that contains 85 percent copper and 15 percent zinc. It is the perfect type of jewelry metal for those allergic to nickel, as it contains no traces of this element. Nu-gold has a unique mellow cast, similar to that of real gold.
NuGold also known as Jeweler’s Brass, Red Brass or Merlin’s Gold, is a great color match to 14K yellow gold. It is a beautiful color with a nice weight to it.
NuGold is an alloy of copper and zinc and it will naturally tarnish when exposed to oxygen, like all copper based metals. Some people like the patina of tarnished NuGold and enjoy watching their piece slowly darken in color over time.
The tarnish is actually a protective coating for the brass, but if you prefer the shine of new, it is easy to do by using polishing cloth, included with every purchase.
NuGold, like copper, will tarnish at different rates for different people. It is the oils and PH from your skin along with the oxygen in that air that accelerates tarnishing. I can wear a piece of NuGold every day for months with it hardly tarnishing at all. My father could turn a piece black in 12 hours. Different results for different people, even within the same family.
There are some steps you can take to greatly slow down the tarnishing of copper or NuGold. First always make sure the piece is clean and dry when you store it. Storing your Copper or NuGold pieces in a ziplock bag with an anti-tarnishing strip or a piece of white chalk will help reduce moisture around the piece and slow tarnishing.

▪️Care Tips ▪️
To help your jewelry stay looking as is, I have coated and polished it with a clear protective coating, Renaissance Wax (developed in the British Museum Research Laboratory by Dr A E A Werner). This does a good job preventing the metal from tarnishing. Mild soap and water shouldn't damage the finish, however I recommend removing your jewelry before swimming, showering or bathing; using household cleaners, abrasives, chemicals, essential oils; and applying lotions or perfumes; doing manual jobs like gardening, washing dishes or workouts ... Do not use jewelry cleaners on this jewelry. The best way to bring back luster is to use jewelry polishing cloth that can be easily purchased at most craft, jewelry stores or online. When your piece not in use, store it in the original gift box or plastic bag to prevent further tarnishing. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask, I'm just one click away ;)
